Everybody is excited to go to Daves Day

Even though I only knew Dave for a short time I am a better person for it. I think we all are. I see now how much he affected others for the better in a huge way. Whenever I am in a tough situation I find myself thinking... What would Dave Lewis do? And the answer to any situation becomes much more clear. I cannot wait for the next "Dave's Day"!

I worked under the leadership of Mr. Lewis at the Children's Seashore House from 1996 through 1999. These years were especially challenging as he was leading the organization and his troops through a complex merger with CHOP. He was a masterful and fierce General who never showed fear in the face of bleak odds. Importantly, at his core he was a compassionate individual with a heart as big as they come. With Mr. Lewis, you knew who was the boss but you also knew he empowered you to call a spade a spade. It was a rare honor and good fortune to have reported to such a great leader and human being. Special individuals like Dave only come around once in a great while. But when they are here, they make it all happen and they make everything count.

Dave was a great teacher of the game. He enjoyed practice just as much as the game. I spent several summers working with Dave at basketball camp. He loved to talk about basketball. He loved his family so much. He was very proud of his kids. I am a better person because of Coach Lewis.

Love the website! I must say that I am so impressed with all of the love for Dave and his family as is shown in the planning of this great event. Sure to be a fun filled day for the whole family to enjoy and what a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives others who will benefit from this great cause.
