What is Dave’s Day?

Dave’s Day began in 2009 in memory of Dave Lewis: local coach, teacher, father, husband and mentor, who passed away June 2008 from Multiple Myeloma. From his very public battle with cancer to his selfless service within the community and beyond, he was an inspiration to all who knew him. In the spirit of Dave and all that he loved, The Northfield Education Foundation and Missions Team of Central United Methodist Church joined forces to pay tribute to Dave through a fundraising event called Dave’s Day.

Where does the money go?

All proceeds from Dave’s Day will be donated to the Northfield Education Foundation and Central United Methodist Church Missions Team.  Over the last several years, the level of community assistance and enthusiasm for this event has been outstanding. Through generous donations and participation, Dave’s Day funds have created opportunities in the local community and beyond.   To read about the projects funded by past events check out our page: Connecting Communities.
